hunter industries: csr website

Hunter Industries, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of irrigation equipment for the landscape and golf course industries, is committed to producing innovative solutions that save water and energy. In 2013, Hunter Industries published their first ever Corporate Social Responsibility report. The report provides a glimpse inside Hunter operations and the goals they are working toward as an organization. As part of the report, Hunter Industries needed a way to communicate the facts and figures to its audience in a way that was easy to digest and comprehend.

our angle

We reviewed Hunter Industries’ performance in seven major impact areas: climate change and energy, water use, product responsibility, waste, community, employees, and human rights in supply chain, to help determine which accomplishments were worthy of highlighting, and also how we could consolidate the information in a way that provided a snapshot of Hunter’s performance and goals. Incorporating the Hunter brand and expanding upon it, we created icons and 15 animated and interactive infographics, graphs and charts for the online report to make the page layouts more dynamic, engage users, and increase transparency about Hunter’s achievements and areas for improvement. By simplifying the content through infographics, rather than burying information in a report, Hunter was able to be honest about their efforts and commitments moving forward. To carry the look and feel of the infographics throughout the online report, we assisted Hunter in the design of infographic icons, pull quotes and content for the home page, as well as the implementation and development of the CSR homepage.

Our first Corporate Social Responsibility report designed by thinkPARALLAX has created a constructive dialogue on sustainability with our customers and employees. The report has helped strengthen our commitment to embed sustainability in our business. Striving to become better corporate citizens has set us apart in the eyes of some of our largest customers.
