Jean attributes her passion for sustainability to the Japanese notion of “mottainai,” which literally means “what a waste!” — but idiomatically expresses regret for when things are not put to their fullest use, and more broadly serves as a philosophy for how we ought to take care of each other and our world. It’s this attitude that drew Jean to the world of corporate sustainability. As an Account Manager, Jean marries her aptitude for client services with an innate drive to facilitate positive change. A strategic thinker with a bright creative streak, Jean prides herself on her ability to zoom out on the bigger picture while maintaining a sharp focus on the finer details. Jean graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a minor in Asian American Studies and can be found in her spare time testing new recipes with her CSA produce, playing piano, or reading anything and everything under the sun.
