Tell us about your background. How did you end up at tPX?

As someone who has always been passionate about people, I decided to study organizational psychology because it was the perfect intersection of people and business.  Through my psychology studies, I learned  how businesses and people could create social and environmental impact, which sparked my interest and passion.

While still in college, I founded an agency that identified and developed  relationships between the social and private sector. Our business model leveraged private companies' desires to take part in social impact programs by partnering with NGOs,  and I successfully led more than 15 projects through 30 nonprofit-private partnerships.

When the pandemic started, I felt that it was the right time to pursue further education and enrolled in a social innovation graduate program in San Diego. During my time in the U.S., I became more familiar with the ESG world and the sustainability initiatives that companies in the United States were implementing. This further fueled my passion, and I joined thinkPARALLAX as an account associate to support companies in their sustainability journey in 2021.

You’ve recently moved into the role of Client Engagement Manager. What’s your favorite part of your job?

It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that my work has a positive impact on companies and the world.I enjoy meeting and learning about different initiatives through our clients and building strong relationships with others who also want to create a positive impact.

My favorite part about the Client Engagement Manager role is problem-solving for our clients and helping others with their challenges. I genuinely believe we have a great team of creatives, problem-solvers and ESG experts, and  strive to find the best way to support clients with their current challenges.

thinkPARALLAX’s purpose is to inspire fresh perspective on sustainable business transformation. What perspective do you bring to tPX, our clients, and/or our industry?

Embracing Parallax, which is our DEI value, is my favorite tPX value. As a Latina who grew up, studied, and worked in Mexico and now works for a U.S.-based company, I feel like I have learned how to navigate both Mexican and American cultures. I bring my Hispanic culture and way of thinking to my everyday life and work. Additionally, my four-year experience as an entrepreneur has given me a unique perspective on problem-solving and innovation, since I had to improvise and create solutions when I ran my company.

What causes are you most interested in?

In my country, Mexico, violence against women is all too common – 11 women are killed each day. I am very passionate about fighting for the safety of all people, but especially women. I have been involved with the feminist movement in various ways, such as joining protests, writing articles, and supporting local NGOs. I am also passionate about immigration and refugee causes, particularly in the U.S.-Mexico border.

What brings you joy outside of work?

I love traveling, discovering new places, and meeting new people. Since our work is remote I find myself being a digital nomad, sometimes for weeks, while I travel and visit friends. I also like to spend time with my family and friends, especially outdoors.
